7 Days, 7 Prayers, 7 Ingredients

by in Blog Posts, Spiritual October 4, 2018

7 days until our daughter, Kendall,  turns 14. I am not quite sure how this happened in the blink of an eye and time has passed so quickly, but I cherish every moment I get to spend with her (even those moments of 14-year-old hormonal craziness). Her spunkiness, giving heart, passion for helping others and love for her family and friends fills my soul with such joy that it is hard to put into words.

7 days until she and I embark on an amazing opportunity and life experience as we head to Abaco, Bahamas on our first mission trip. I am eager to see where God leads us on this journey and even more excited to be able to share this time and spiritual outpouring with her.

7 prayers.
Lord, thank you for the gift of rest. For giving us time when we take it to quiet our minds, souls, and bodies. Thank you for a restful night of sleep, giving me the energy to be my best in the day ahead.
Lord, thank you for the health of my family. Please continue to watch over us and guide us on a path of healthful living.
Lord, wrap your arms around my dear friend, a new mom, giving her strength, healing and renewed energy.
Lord, thank you for showing me how to open my heart and ears when it seems so hard. For showing me how to love through the difficult times. Please continue to guide my words and actions to show love to the people closest to me when they need it most.
Lord, sit beside and lift up my friend who is needing some extra love an grace in her life right now.
Lord, thank you for our many blessings and opportunities. Please walk with our team of women and keep us safe as we travel to the Bahamas next week.
Lord, I am in awe of your presence every single day. I ask that the eyes, ears, and hearts of those who need your guidance the most right now, at this moment, are open, allowing them to see, hear and feel your presence as well.

7 ingredients.
2 eggs
1 large ripe banana
1/4 cup oats
1 scoop vanilla protein powder
1 tbsp raw cacao powder
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tbsp coconut oil
Pinch of pink salt (really the 8th ingredient)

Pancakes!!
Combine all ingredients in a blender or food processor.
In a cast iron skillet, add coconut oil and pour in batter.
Watch for small bubbles to appear in pancakes and flip.

TIP: top with fresh berries, cacao nibs, PB2 sauce or 100% maple syrup.
