Change. It’s Part of the Plan.
It is so easy to stick with routine. Seek comfort in what we know. Never step outside that comfort zone; after all, why would we want to do that? Things are ok right where we are.
But that’s it, things are just OK. And I am not sure about you, but I am not OK with an “OK life.” I want more than that!! OK is boring.
So, it’s time for a change.
This could be something as simple as trying a new food, taking a new route to work, spending time with a new friend, reading a new book that you “would never have picked out before.”
I have been praying for change to come into my life for over a year now. For God to open my eyes, ears, mind and heart to new opportunity. God always has a plan. Things never seem to change or work out as we think they will; but having faith, knowing that I am not in control and trusting the journey is part of the process.
Simple change can bring newness, challenge and opportunity.
I have always exercised. For the past 15 years, the majority of my workouts I have done at home. Six days a week, I got in a great workout and was happy with doing it that way. It worked with my schedule. Even though I was constantly switching things up and trying new programs, alternating cardio and strength training, implementing my own programs, I had an itch for change this year. I knew after 15 years, mentally and physically, I needed something new but had no idea what that looked like.
God has a plan.
In April a friend told me about a special being run at Burn Boot Camp for 30 days. I had been to boot camp 2 years ago when I lead a group of women through the Healthy Huntersville Healthy Me 8-Week Challenge. While I enjoyed it and knew what it was about, I still stuck with my at-home workouts. But in April, I was ready for a new challenge. Ready for change.
So I went for the 30 days and was hooked! Now, each day brings a new challenge and change to my workout regimen. The atmosphere and people I workout with are inspiring and full of positive energy. I absolutely love it there and know that it came into my life at the right time.
I was open and ready for change. Praying for it to come and it did. Simple changes can challenge us and make a huge difference.
Everything happens for a reason. With more changes on the horizon for me, I am so excited about life, each day and what God has in store for now and the future.
Change is a good thing. Don’t be scared to take that step. Make a change. Trust the process.
Stay tuned…great things are happening all around us!
