It took a few weeks

….but Day 1 of the 3-Day Refresh is in the books.

I decided to do the refresh this week because it is the first time since summer started that I have had 3 consecutive days with no evening events, guests in town or plans to go anywhere.
sunFor me, I decided to do the refresh simply because I feel that summer is a time of overindulgence; especially with the wine and happy hours!!!  I wanted a quick and easy-to-follow program to feel refreshed and energized as I head into the PiYo challenge, starting next Monday. (You can still join us by 7/22!! and you do not have to be local to Charlotte – email me at if you are interested in joining)

Here is what Day 1 of the refresh looked like for me:

  • Breakfast: vegan Shakeology with 1/2 banana
  • Fiber Sweep drink
  • Lunch: vanilla protein shake with 2/3 cup blueberries, 1 cup kale w/ 2 tbsp avocado and lemon juice
  • Afternoon snack: 1 1/2 tbsp hummus and 12 green beans
  • Dinner: spinach salad with 1/2 cucumber, 1/2 bell pepper, 2 tbsp chopped scallions, 1/4 cup broccoli, 1 tsp raw pumpkin seeds, 1 tsp olive oil and lemon juice and vanilla protein shake

PLUS, lots of water and herbal tea throughout the day. My workout was Insanity Pure Cardio at Fit Club this morning.

My thoughts for today would be mainly that I never felt hungry or tired (even with an intense workout). The Vegan Shakeology and vanilla protein shakes are both very tasty; and even the fiber sweep drink isn’t that bad.

Here’s to a good night of sleep and amazing Day 2!
