Pause These Seasons…
Summer is almost over!! Some kids are back in school already and there are less than 2 weeks before our kids begin 6th and 8th grade. How does that happen? The older we (and they) get, the faster time passes.
Pause. Time flies when you are having fun.
This spring and summer season have been ones for enormous change, challenge, growth and testing our faith in the Fisher house. Jay and I both have been through major career transitions and our kids are now at the point where they want to hang with their friends ALL of the time. We have additional kids coming through our revolving door daily 🙂 and we have to schedule time with our own kids on a calendar; giving them fair warning, as to not “interrupt” their social time 😉
Pause. They are growing up way too quickly.
But we do it. We make family time (even if it is just dinner together) a priority as much as possible with our crazy schedules, and when it happens, we all enjoy it.
Pause. Take in each and every season.
Even with this summer being one like we have never had before, with missing trips to see some of our dearest friends and missing our annual summer trip to VA, we still made the time to add some amazing memories to our album.
Nana came for a visit and we took a trip to beautiful Savannah Georgia to visit family – with an all inclusive taste test at the hot sauce store on Tybee Island…
One my dearest life-long friends came to visit from France,
We spent 5 cherished days at the lake with my brothers and families paddle-boarding, waterskiing, swimming, fishing, running and just enjoying each others company.
Just last week, we wrapped up summer with an amazing week on Ocean Isle with dear friends; complete with crabbing trips, the Olympics, fresh fish and great wine, laughs, workouts, bike rides, swimming and days spent enjoying the gorgeous weather and warm ocean water.
We packed a lot of wonderful memories into a very short summer and feel so blessed to be surrounded and supported by the people we love so dearly.
Life is such a gift. Pause. Take time. Work to find balance. Enjoy every season.
