Time Well Spent!
Take time. Invest in people.
It has been some time since I have blogged.
I have to be inspired to write. Feel like I have something worth sharing. Perceive that the person taking time to read will be impacted in a positive way.
Writing takes time. People take time. Relationships take time.
Truly this is the reason I started to blog.
It’s not for me. I don’t write to complain, bitch or moan. I don’t write to passively aggressively air my frustrations with the world. I don’t write adherent paragraphs of opinions on topics that do not bring joy into my life or the lives of my readers.
I take time to write simply as a source of positive light and motivation. Could what I write today positively impact someone tomorrow?
My writing is to share with my kids (when they actually read it one day), my family and friends, and those of you who I do not know personally, but pray that something I write at some point will be remembered and alter the trajectory of your day; taking into consideration the power of positive thought and choices that life offers us.
Speaking of what life has to offer…it finally offered Jay and me a long weekend away last weekend. We left on Thursday, back on Sunday. 3 1/2 days of losing track of time, visiting with friends, laughing, enjoying each other’s company, sleeping, listening to country music, eating, and drinking until we couldn’t any longer.
The true joy in my life comes from investing time in the relationships that mean the most to me. Those that are give and take; those relationships that produce deep conversation, make my heart smile, and nourish my spirit.
Taking time to connect with Jay, out of our routine setting and away from distraction, was and is important for us. It nourishes not only my spirit but the spirit and center of our marriage and family. At the center, aside from God, it is the most important time to invest in. Invest in people <3
My point? Take the time for YOU. Take the time for the people you love most. Don’t just use the “busy” excuse. If it is important, you will find a way. You will make the time.
Just maybe it is time to consider that there might be some relationships worth not investing so much time into. I feel that this is just as powerful and it is ok. Not all relationships are meant to be life-long. Some are just a season. There is a shift that comes when you see and feel the ones worth investing your time in.
Happy weekend, friends 🙂 Enjoy you time…
