Healthy Snacks for Kids
- Oatmeal muffins*
- Dried fruit (make sure there is no added sugar) and nuts
- Fresh Seasonal Fruit
- Air-popped popcorn (sprinkle with salt and drizzle with olive oil)
- Pumpkin or sunflower seeds
- Lara Bars (only 2 ingredients – remember, the less the better on the ingredient list)
- Whole grain crackers and cheddar or string cheese
- Rice cakes topped with natural peanut butter & local honey
- Mini-whole wheat bagels with cream cheese (add cinnamon for extra sweetness)
- Homemade trail mix (peanuts, almonds, Chex cereal & chocolate chips)
- Baby carrots and hummus
- Celery topped with peanut butter & raisins (ants on a log)
- Nut butter stuffed dates (try almond, sunflower seed or cashew butter)
- Homemade Lara bars*
- Hard-boiled eggs
- Plain yogurt mixed with berries & honey (berries can be bought frozen when out of season)
- Simple guacamole* & tortilla chips
- Freezer waffle sandwich*
- Bean Burrito
